WHAT ARE YOUR MUST-PACK ESSENTIALS FOR A WEEKEND AWAY?
Well, I am serial over-packer, but my must-haves for the Southern Highlands are:1.
ALWAYS a big jacket. One second you’ll be in a spring dress, the next you’ll need your thickest jacket!2.
Comfy shoes for exploring (that also look good).3.
Cute outfits to take you from day to night. The MARCS Picture Perfect Cardigan and Ikat Printed Skirt are perfect for this.
FAVOURITE PLACE TO STAY IN THE SOUTHERN HIGHLANDS?
I love the Berida Hotel. The building is beautiful, has a fantastic restaurant and is a super short walk into town.
BEST PLACE TO GRAB A COFFEE?
Bowral: The Press Shop.
YOUR TOP RECOMMENDATION FOR A DELISH LONG LUNCH?
Long lunch at Bendooley Estate, it really is a must when you visit – or the Burrawang Pub.
It has the most picturesque view for a late lunch and arvo drinks.
Also, the Paste Thai, it is the new Michelin Star Thai in Mittagong. Hot tip: Book well in advance!
WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT THE SOUTHERN HIGHLANDS?
The countryside is incredible. One of my favourite things is just driving in-between towns along the picturesque roads.
The food and drink scene is also really great - I pretty much spent my entire trip going from café to winery to restaurant!
